Matia collaborates in the design of a quality management system in services for dependency care in Uruguay.

30.04.2019

We recently returned from an interesting trip that has taken us to the Republic of Uruguay. Throughout the second half of 2018 we had the opportunity to collaborate with the National Care System (SNC) and the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) of that country, developing a project that consisted in the elaboration of an international review on the different models of quality management in dependency care services.

The work was carried out with the collaboration of the SIIS Documentation and Studies Center of the Eguia Careaga Foundation. To close the project, during the week of April 22-26, we went to Montevideo to participate in an International Seminar on Care in which the report resulting from the study was presented, analyzing aspects of quality management such as the regulation of services, regulatory frameworks, standards and indicators, inspection and evaluation systems, etc., in a total of seven countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal and the United States.

In addition, during this last trip, sessions were held with technical representatives of public bodies involved in the care system and in particular of the dependency commissions (design of dependency care services) and regulation (of all SNIC services and resources), as well as with technicians from the National Care Secretariat in the areas of dependency and Planning and Monitoring. Finally, several day care centers have been visited, and work has been done with the coordinating teams of this service.
