• Gizarte Eskubideen Estatu Idazkaritzak, Eusko Jaurlaritzak, Gipuzkoako Foru Aldundiak eta IMSERSOk partekatu dute erakunde bakoitza nola ari den erantzuten Estatuko zaintza-ereduaren eraldaketari.

• Más de 1000 personas (840 personas Online y 240 presencialmente) se han reunido para compartir impresiones sobre la necesidad de cambio en el modelo de cuidados de larga duración.
• Las voces de los protagonistas se han podido escuchar con la presentación del documental “Vivir Con Sentido”.

Fundación Matia somos una organización con más de 130 años de experiencia en el sector de la geriatría. Contamos con más de 1200 profesionales, y actualmente buscamos incorporar a nuestro equipo a profesionales de Medicina, para 2 centros de Guipúzcoa (https://www.matiafundazioa.eus/es/centros).

We recently returned from an interesting trip that has taken us to the Republic of Uruguay. Throughout the second half of 2018 we had the opportunity to collaborate with the National Care System (SNC) and the Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) of that country, developing a project that consisted in the elaboration of an international review on the different models of quality management in dependency care services.

In view of the recently published news of the mistreatment suffered by two elderly women in a nursing home in Hortaleza, Madrid, the undersigned organizations express our strongest condemnation of such despicable acts.

According to UN data, between 4% and 6% of elderly people in the world have suffered some form of abuse and mistreatment. In Spain, according to some studies, the figures are quite similar. Only a minority, less than 10%, report any of these situations.

After a failed attempt, since the weather was not with us, we organize again a solidarity market with Emaus Social Foundation.

From Matia Fundazioa, we are working intensively on a model of care focused on the people who come to our centers, adapting the entire organization to them, to their preferences and needs, to their families and friends to integrate them into our daily life. Our aim is that they can live "as if they were at home".
